  • People respond to video faster than any other method (i.e., banner ads, text ads, boring text-filled website sales copy, etc.) …

  • Video connects, builds and bridges that gap from stranger to trustworthiness …

  • Video is also exciting, colorful and a great way to get your message across in seconds

  • … among so many other reasons! Were these enough or do you want more? Okay, with video:

  • You are your own TV commercial-making company

  • Make any kind of video ad/message you want. No need to check with anyone. Just do it …

  • You can get in front of thousands of people daily with so many different messages …

  • Frequency of videos playing with you in them or about your message/product/offer can boost confidence and sales with your viewers beyond any other method of marketing available …

  • … okay, is that enough reasons? HAHA … I’m sure there are more and maybe we’ll come back and list a few more, but for now you know how powerful video is. So, let’s get to what you need to know in order to take advantage of all this information.

    Now that know why you should get on video, here are some ideas for you to consider when it comes to getting on your own video:

  • Video TRAILERS … Lets get YOU on video talking about your story, your company, products/services and what folks can look forward to experiencing with you.

  • Video TOURS … Lets get YOU on video to give folks a tour of your website or something else you’d like them to know how to navigate.

  • Video MESSAGES … Lets get YOU on video talking about something that relates to or helps your core audience or intended market.

  • Video INTERVIEWS … Lets get YOU on video showcasing an interview about your book, a product, your company, etc.

  • Video TUTORIALS … Lets get YOU on video conducting a tutorial.

  • As you can see, there are many ways you can “get on video!”

    What software and equipment do you need to “get on video?”

    That depends on what and how you plan to video record yourself and what kind of video you’re making. Will YOU be visible in the video? Will you use PowerPoint slides? Will you have screen shots, banners, images or??? Depending on the type of video you’ll present, here’s a quick list of software and equipment you’ll need:

  • Your smartphone or HD/4K camera (or similar camera) with microphone input if you plan to be in the video personally, which of course you WILL be in the video …

  • Lavalier microphone for quality sound when recording your voice …

  • Professional lights so you look bright and clear in the video …

  • Professional/natural background/screen (or plain wall), green screen (optional) …

  • Green screen software to remove the background if filming against a green screen …

  • Video editing software such as Movavi, which is what I use, or a similar video editing program …

  • 72″ Tripod with cell phone holder …
